
🚨 DISTRICT GAME CHANGE 🚨
Due to forecasted inclement weather, kickoff for HHS Football's district semifinal Friday at Mountain Grove has been moved forward to 5 p.m. It will be one of many games with earlier kickoffs in the region due to weather.


🏀 The brackets for next week's middle school girls' basketball tournament in Mountain Grove.


🏀 Here are the brackets for next week's middle school boys' basketball tournament hosted in Houston. Games in the 8th grade bracket will be played in the New Gym and 7th grade games will be played in Hiett Gymnasium. Houston will not field at team in the 7th grade tournament.


#TBT - Prior to this season, this group of seniors were the leaders of the last winning season for HHS Football. The 2008 team went 6-5 and qualified for the playoffs under Coach Chris Edwards. INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS 🐯 Mrs. Maggie Moore, our Elementary Counselor, and Mr. Jim Moore, Assistant Elementary Principal, spoke with students in Mrs. Mandy Adey’s Careers class about various careers in the field of education. They talked about different roles and avenues of education: teacher, coach, counselor and administration. Mrs. Adey said the students were extremely inquisitive and asked some legitimate questions. It was a fun day!

There will be a public sendoff for HHS Football at 4:15 p.m. Friday as the Tigers head to Mountain Grove for their district semifinal showdown. The team will travel in front of the school, then downtown and onto U.S. 63
Also, please note admission for the district game is $6/person. No passes will be accepted.


Presenting your first HHS Athlete of the Month!


Houston Cross Country concluded its season Saturday with districts at Hermitage. It was the culmination of a very successful 2022 campaign for the program. Kristen Ely was the top girls' runner in 33rd place and Jake Allen led the boys in 34th place.

Wondering what you'll do with all that extra Halloween candy 🍬🍫🍭 Our district has teamed up with the #TreatsforTroops program to ship candy to deployed service members or hand out to veterans in VA Hospitals across the country. Students can bring their candy to the elementary or middle school offices Nov. 1 through 8.


A special thanks to Officer Josh Green, our school resource officer and a member of the Houston Police Department, for sharing about his career and experiences in law enforcement with our eighth graders in Mrs. Mandy Adey's Careers class.


MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY: There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.


The reigning Class 3 state champion HHS Scholar Bowl team kicked off a new season Saturday by winning the tournament the team hosted. Individually for Houston, Andy Durham placed third overall and Emily Honeycutt was fifth.


Our elementary concluded a fun #RedRibbonWeek with an assembly Friday morning that included law enforcement, our high school cheerleaders and announcements of contest winners. We joined the rest of the nation in 2022 to "Celebrate Life. Live Drug Free."





Our Future Farmers of America are having incredible experiences and a wonderful time at the 95th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
