Join us in welcoming our new School Resource Officer: Officer Cathryn Davis 🐯👮🏻 We are excited she has joined our team and look forward to her positive impact on our campus and with our staff and students. Below Officer Davis shared about herself and being the district's new SRO:
🟥 ABOUT OFFICER DAVIS: My name is Cathryn Davis, I’m 32 and originally from Florissant, Missouri, a city in St. Louis Missouri. I attended Hazelwood Central High School until moving to Wright City, Missouri, a city in Warren County Missouri (about an hour west of St. Louis. I graduated from Wright City High School in 2009. I earned an A-plus scholarship and attended St. Charles Community College and graduated with an associate’s. I continued at Lindenwood University where I obtained my bachelor’s in criminal justice. I graduated in December 2013 and started the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy in January 2014. Once I was commissioned, I started working in Northern Howell/ Shannon Counties. While there I had my first daughter, Gwendolyn Goodwin (2/2/18). When I came back from maternity leave, I transferred to Texas County. I then had my second daughter, Alana Goodwin (1/30/20). My parents owned property in Hartshorn and finished building their home and moved down a short time later. My mother, Lisa Pellerito, is currently a PRN nurse at TCMH after retiring from Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. The opportunity to apply for the Houston Police Department as the School Resource Officer became available and I decided to apply.
🟥 BECOMING THE DISTRICT'S SRO: I am absolutely thrilled to be the SRO for Houston R1. It is honestly a blessing for my family and I. I’m humbled the Houston Police Department and School Board both approved of my transfer into the department. I hope to make the transition from Officer Green to myself as seamless as possible. He has done an amazing job making connections and building rapport with all staff and students. I hope to build on safety and continue to build onto safety measures as new technology becomes available. I also hope to build an educational program for students that is both useful and educational geared toward want the hear about and/or need to be informed of.
