Congratulations to Ms. Rebekah Wann, a first grade teacher at Houston Schools who has been announced as a nominee for LifeChanger of the Year! Mrs. Wann was celebrated for "all the good she puts into her students, friends, and coworkers."
Ms. Wann was nominated by her colleague, Mrs. Jamie Story. Here is the full nomination submitted to the organization:
"Ms. Wann has proven to me how she makes a beneficial difference in the lives of her students and coworkers," said Story. "She is my daughter's teacher, and I've been very fortunate to have her guiding my daughter. Avery has always been academically sound. Ms. Wann does not hold her back, but pushes her forward by giving her chapter books to read and sight words that challenge her. She has even offered support for my son who has a more difficult time, even though she is not his teacher. I'm a first year teacher who she also helps.
"She has given me guidance and material that benefit the students in my classroom. She has taken the time to sit down with me outside contracted hours and help me become a better educator. She forms relationships with her students that many teachers have lost sight of. She deserves to be recognized for all the good she puts into her students, friends, and coworkers. She truly is a rock star!"
